Is there a reliable resource which focuses on search engine
optimization and coldfusion.  I've spent the last hour reading all
kinds of voodoo on this topic in Google searches.  I'm looking for
best practices and tried and true techniques.
Thanks!
John

Thanks Steve!  Since posting this question back in June
I
have found your opinion on the matter to be truthful.
I
have recently launched a total CF generated site which
Google has picked up, in fact it did so within hours.
If
you search 'midlothian day parade' you will see links
to
midlothiandayparade.com with multiple dynamic pages
indexed correctly, even the dynamically set page
titles.

Thanks again,
John

Hi Jasmine,

What I did was read Google's SEO docs and then setup my
dynamic pages so that they reflected the
recommendations at Google:
http://support.google.com/webmasters/bin/answer.py?
hl=en&answer=35291  (<<<don't click on this link, copy
and paste the whole thing)

Then I made sure that I did NOT use URL
variables like this:

www.mysite.com/index.cfm?page=about_us

Instead, I instructed CF to make directories where
needed (and where they do not already exists). I
auto copy/paste an index.cfm file into each of those
directories.  This index.cfm is used to load
the dynamic content, content which is based on the URL.
In this case the URL would be
www.mysite.com/about_us <<< this is much more friendly
for google. The index.cfm file in the
about_us directory is identical to all the other
directories and it has a line in the code which
grabs the "about_us" portion of the url and then grabs
that content from SQL, then grabs a CSS file
intended for that page.

Keep in mind that all of this happens prior to the DOM
completely loading.  Google has no idea that
this is a ColdFusion page.  It only registers
AFTER CF has done it's work.

So far the results have been far better than anything
else I have tried to do with SEO.

Cheers,
John
