I have a query about this.  My boss in under the impression that our SEO is not working as the sites are in coldfusion. Does this make a difference. I cannot see how Adobe can have a software which is not SEO compatible.  I just think he is being awkward to force me to learn something else.

Quite simply your boss is wrong.  Regardless of
application server (.net, java, ruby, php, etc.) the end
result at the browser is ALWAYS html, javascript and
CSS).

If your SEO isn't working it's not the fault of the
technology but likely the implementation.

I agree... Chances are you are not implementing
techniques such as table-less design, css designs, and
proper SEO techniques. The development platform used will
play no effect in this.

in fact, SEO refers to every aspect of site development, even site design.
maybe a little change about your site may have a great good influnce on SEO.
SEO also should pay attention to details.
