I have a friend who is running for local office in the fall. He only needs a server for the few months of his campaign.  Would it be ok to use the free hosting here to do his campaign site in cf or should I look somewhere else?  What are the guidelines for this service?

right now, the fee hosting is down due to some data center issues I'm working through. The hosting is not really intended for "live" sites; and is more of a sandbox... so I would suggest to use a paid host... if it's a temporary need try:

www.dailyrazor.com OR www.hostingatoz.com

Hi - I started using Hostek's Coldfusion Hosting a few months ago and so far have been very happy - their "basic" plan is pretty inexpensive.
