Hi,

I found over 10 inactive activiities with long logon time from the cold fusion web server to the Oracle database.  Is this usual? If not, is there anything an Oracle DBA or Cold Fusion Web master can do to fix this?

USERNAME           MACHINE  STATUS      LOGON_TIM
-----------------  -------------------------------
USER_WEB_ADM       PRODWEB  INACTIVE    10-Dec-04
USER_WEB_ADM       PRODWEB  INACTIVE    12-Dec-04
USER_WEB_ADM       DEVJWEB  INACTIVE    10-Dec-04
.
.
USER_WEB           DEVJWEB  INACTIVE    16-Dec-04
USER_WEB           DEVJWEB  INACTIVE    16-Dec-04

Many thanks!

I'm not an ORACLE DBA, but I know that in most cases inactive session will remain on the server until they are needed.. So they are assigned and waiting!

I think to be honest, unless you have large amounts of traffic (which at that point you will need a DBA Smile  ) you dont have to really worry about that Smile

Thanks,

Hi,

It is ColdFusion issue I think!  Shouldn't ColdFusion suppose to end each session when it completes?  How would ColdFusion handle the spooling and sharing connections?   We don't have much activities because it's not online yet.

Thanks!
