Hello,

I have created a database in MS SQL 2005 Express and I need to move it to another server that is not located on site.  How could I do this??

Thx,

Rich

What are you moving the database to, SQL, mysql, etc?

I've not used MS SQL 2005 Express but in MSSQL2000, you could use enterprise manager and export the data from one server directly to the other.  You could also setup a DTS package and move it all over at the same time.

Otherwise, I'm assuming you would need to export your exiting data to a flat file and then import the flat file into your new DB.

I don't know what the enterface looks like for SQL 2005 Express. Frown

Cheers,
Chip

Use SQL Studio Manager to connect to the 2005 Express installation, detach the database then reattach it to your primary instance

Or you can use a backup too
