Hey all..

my current host is great...but they're still on MX6.1 with no plans to upgrade to 7.  So I've been shopping around a bit and just came across this company.

their top tier CF package is pretty impressive, and runs $65 a year (A YEAR!).

A breakdown can be found at:
http://www.hostingatoz.com/shared_hosting.cfx

Offers SQL Server, CFMX7 Enterprise, only restricted tags are cfexecute and cfregistry (neither of which I use)... seems pretty good.

Unfortunately, I've gone with cheap hosting in the past and found that you generally get what you pay for.

So before I take the plunge (never test the depth of the water with both feet), I figured I'd ask and see if anybody had any experiences (good or bad) with this company?

thanks Smile

First time I'm hearing of them.
Maybe this is a typo but under all plans they have in BOLD PER YEAR and the smallest plan  costs USD$7.99

Per year? 66 cents a month? $5 a year for SQL DB?

Are they for real?

Addon info
Reseller at $15.99 A MONTH, seems also pretty good really! And it offers CFMX 7.0 Enterprise.

CJ really 65 dollars a year?
Dang that is good.
If they are good i'm next to signup!
But I'll be looking into the reseller plan.
It is cheaper than what I got here.

I have been with http://www.hostingatoz.com for a few months now. I have a Reseller Account with them. So far support is very good and servers uptime is great.

I would recommend everybody if they are looking for new host.

rk -

cool.  sounds good.

i know it's been less than a day, but so far I'm -very- happy.

Had some questions about setting up SQL Server, sent in a ticket, and got a response in about 4 minutes.

One of my biggest concerns was whether or not they'd allow createObject() (i know some of the cheaply priced hosts don't).  a cursory glance of the knowledgebase showed that they only disallow <cfregistry> and <cfexecute> (understandable).

So last nite i run a quick test using createObject() and of course...it doesn't work.  I check the knowledgebase again and find an article i had completely missed saying that in the global sandbox, they do disallow createobject, and a few other tags (cffile, cfcontent)...and if you want them turned on they will create a sandbox for you.  so I submit my second ticket of the evening.  15 minutes later, I get an email saying, "done".  run a quick test and boom.  everything works.

I'd been hesitant about actualy changing the DNS settings for my domain because i wanted to wait a few days and see how things went.  but after last night, i'm pretty much ready to fully commit Smile

CJ, I know it has only been a week, but what do you think of hostingatoz so far?

Thanks,
Cody

Hi Cody:

Honestly don't have too much to report yet.  I was in the hospital from Monday morning until yesterday evening (and the days prior to that were spent preparing for the hospital stay), so i've not done much with the site.

Right now I'm actually stripping it down and removing some extraneous stuff.  Hopefully in a few hours i'll have a new streamlined site up and i can get started on moving the DNS over.

Will keep you posted Smile

I'm getting 504 and 500 errors at their site. Must have just gone down b/c was looking around trying to find the cost of static IP's and if they had any special deals on SSL certs and then the lights went out Frown

OK. It's been a few weeks since I signed up with AtoZ and I have absolutely nothing but good things to say since doing so. Increadibly fast support ticket responses - on two occasions, not even enough time to go get a coffee.

I feel a bit guilty paying so little for such good service.
