This took me too long to realize so let me pass it on... if your cfquery doesn't return any records then a

<cfoutput query="whateverthequeery">

won't execute!

Instead do a      <cfif whateverthequeery.recordCount is 0> etc. and then if there's a record count do the cfoutput.
