I primarily use MySQL because of the price and performance.  I haven't gotten into MSSQL because of the price, but I am looking to try out the Express version of that.  Same with Oracle.  I have heard good things about Firebird, but I have yet to try it.  Access, well, it was a good database to start with for beginners.  Smile

Thanks,

I really prefer mysql over mssql. The dev team for my is doing a great job with updating it with newer features like stored proc's, clustering, HALB, and such. Plus you cant beat the best price of them all FREE.

Definitely a SQL Server guy myself, for many reasons.  BUT, I must admit that with the last 2 releases of MySQL, they're catching up.

I mainly use MySQL as my preffered DBMS because it is affordable, easy to use, safe and fast.

I tend to prefer MSSQL; under stress it runs better then MySQL. Oracle is good also; but ridiculously expensive for what you get.

Overall; I always prefer to use MSSQL Smile

I previously stated that I thought MySQL was catching up... how wrong I was.  After actually playing with the latest release, it still blows when compared to SQL Server.  So, 100% SQL Server for me.

I use MySQL. All the sites I work on are already using MySQL and easiest just not to switch them.

I was beginning to think I was the ONLY one using oracle based on the poll results.  Glad to see im not alone. Smile

Why oracle?  Because.

I use oracle at work, and SQL Server 2000 at home.
