hi guys i am developing a flex/cf app and i estimate that in the first year i will be having about 10000-100000 hits/day. the application is massive. so what do i need to make sure the the application does not crush if over 10000 or even 500000 pple access it at the same time? thanks

There are several free and very not so free applications that you can use to load test your application. Here is an article on it from adobe:

http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flex/articles/server_perf.html

Also you may want to try a search on goggle using the following phrase:

"testing load on flex application"

There are a couple of things that can make or break an application when giving it a heavy load.
First and foremost is the actual code and secondly is the server equipment. You may want to test loads in a development environment then on the production.

Hope that helps.
