Howdy y'all. Long time no read.

Has anyone had experience using your CFML skills to dev desktop software applications?
I'm trying to evaluate whether it's technically, financially possible to do this for a software vendor with possibly thousands of potential deployments of the final solution on xp/vista/7 and OS-X.

I have read a little of what bluedragon.net is doing and soon to be doing and that sounds promising, as does openBD and adobe AIR.

But I was hoping to sound out anyone who's tackled this beast before and decided if it's worth it or even do-able.

I recall a tutorial Megan wrote a long time ago about CF on a stick and I haven't kept up with CF dev trends since, so I'm not sure what's possible these days but thought I'd ask your good selves.

Thanks in advance for any help or direction you can provide.

Hey Lossed - I haven't done anything with that since the tutorial /experiment

You probably want to start with Phil Cruz's CFEverywhere concept which he used to create a "tracking tools" app

http://philcruz.com/cfeverywhere/

however his links to the articles at cfdj are kaput

Thanks very much for those references, Megan. Very much appreciated.
I've been reading around Python also but haven't dived in yet.
