A local company is installing coldfusion and asking for my help. I don't know much about the actual server side but I thought I could get some help for them. They would like to change the port from 8500 to another port number. They are follwing the manual on macromedia's site about going into the jrun.xml and changing it there. But they said they have searched  this out on google and people are saying that when people type in the address that they will now have to include the port number behind the address is this true?

thanks for your help.

The only port that will not require you to enter the port number is port (80). Port 80 is the standard web port.

So if you dont want to have to enter a port number, use 80 Wink
