Good morning all.  My name is Teri Silvey, from Fleming County (northeastern) Kentucky.  I'm a nontraditional student pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Computer Information Technology online from Western Kentucky University.

I'm a real newcomer to programming and scripting, my entire background consisting of a javascript class and a VB class!!

I'm trying to immerse myself in coldfusion for the 8 week biterm of this class.  I'm using dreamweaver and have the development server on my local machine.

I won't ask anyone to do my homework  Playful Wink  but I certainly will have questions  - one of the objectives of this class seems to be to teach us to do our own research.  So any suggestions of other good references, etc. will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

You probably wont need this at first but if you stick with CF after your course, then you'll want to add CFLib to your arsenal.

Thanks for the welcome.  I've ordered the Web Application Construction Kit , it will be here Monday.  I'm sure I'll have more questions as I go along.

Welcome aboard, Teri.

We are all students of something or other, for our whole lives, me thinks.

BTW, please never be afraid to ask the most obvious and mundane questions. Since my arrival here and that of similarly challenged imbeciles, we've re-defined stupidity. To the point that I bet your questions will be met with a great response from the CF guru's, rejoicing in a higher caliber of poster Wink

Welcome terisilv.  As megan said, this is a great community of other developers that are more than willing to help out when needed

@megan,
just fyi.

A nontraditional student is one that is not fresh out of highschool starting college.

I was a nontraditional student when i went back to school in 2003 to get a second bachelor's degree.  I was 27 then . hehe

Cheers,
Matthew
