I thought this would do it...

<input type="hidden" name="N2_integer" value="<b>Question 2</b> requires a whole number.">

...but it's allowing decimals.  What am I doing wrong?

Sorry.  I'm using ColdFusion's built-in server-side data validation feature.  I have a textbox named "N2", then this hidden form field:

<input type="hidden" name="N2_integer" value="<b>Question 2</b> requires a whole number.">
