Have you changed the location of your clientStorage in application.cfm? If not, try setting it to COOKIE instead of REGISTRY. If it still doesn't work. I don't know what is going on. Sorry.

why not download the developer's edition of CF and run your code locally?

this way you'll know if it's an error in your code, or an error on the hosts' part.

that's the problem I have and I continue to get that same error of scope client not enabled with the host and not the developer edition on my pc.  What could be wrong on there end or should I just switch servers

Well,

Have you enabled CLIENT storage for this database through the ColdFusion Administrator?

You need to go to the cfide administrator and add client storage available for your database.

Then it SHOULD Wink  work!

ok...

go to:

http://localhost/cfide/administrator/

log in and then on the left menu go as follows:

Server Settings
Client Variables

Click on the Client Variables link.

Under: Select Data Source to Add as Client Store
select your database and click "ADD"

If you do not have the CLIENT database tables setup on the database, leave the "Create Client database tables" checkbox checked... then click SUBMIT Changes.

You're done!

They have communicated at the host server that they have made the changes and I am still getting the error message. That the client scope is still not enabled.

Another quest where in the cf admin would I set DeleteClientVariable("MyVar")
and how would I implement that option.......

Kindest Regards, CPINK

It is not implemented on the server. You use it in your web pages to clear out variables when they are not needed.
